Client: Tipsy Project: Full menu redesign and print production
The Backstory
Tipsy is a starting‑out lounge, a high‑traffic lounge in a competitive nightlife district. Their old menus were laminated cardstock: stained, curled, and frankly, a little embarrassing. Customers would wave down waiters to ask what was actually available.
The Challenge
The team needed:
Spill‑resistant menus that still felt premium.
Menu (Tipsy drinks) with consistent branding.
A midnight launch – meaning delivery at 10 AM for a 6 PM event that same day.
Low minimum order (150 of each), because menus change seasonally.
The Valid8 Solution
We recommended a layered approach:
Cover: 400gsm card with soft‑touch lamination + debossed “MENU” headline. Inside pages: 250gsm silk art paper with aqueous coating – repels water, wine, and oil. Binding: Rust‑proof wire‑O (lies flat, no cracked spines). Size: A5 portrait – fits one hand, easy for candlelit tables.
We also split the artwork into two distinct colour zones:
